Large Daedalus
This candleholder its inspired from Daedalus, a mythical Greek inventor, architect, and sculptor, created the Labyrinth for King Minos of Crete. His tale includes the tragic episode of killing his nephew due to envy, leading to his banishment from Athens. In Crete, he built a wooden cow to help Queen Pasiphae mate with a bull, resulting in the birth of the Minotaur, whom he later imprisoned in the Labyrinth. Daedalus and his son Icarus escaped Crete using wings made of wax and feathers, though Icarus famously fell to his death. His contributions to art and architecture were significant, with early Greek art phases named after him.
